Caring For Your Tree
• Care for the tree as carefully as you care for cut flowers.
• Let the tree remain outdoors or on a cool porch until you are ready to decorate. An area that provides protection from the wind will help the tree retain its moisture.
• Make a fresh cut one half inch from the bottom of the trunk just before putting it in the tree stand. Keep the tree stand full of water at all times, checking the water level daily.
• Trees are thirsty! The stand you use should hold at least one quart of water for every inch diameter of the trunk after the tree is in the stand. Trees may drink between 2 pints and a gallon of water per day, so make sure to check daily and supply fresh water as needed.
